I had the privilege of designing this invitation for an old client and dear friend, Sohad Acouri, a UAE based haute couture designer, who launched his new bridal line "White" last night at the Gargash Enterprises Mercedes-Benz showroom. I first met Sohad a few years ago when designing the invitation for his brother's wedding. The collection of 18 bridal gowns were designed with the four seasons of life in mind: winter, spring, summer and autumn. I wanted to bring this theme of "La Vie en Blanc" into the invitation without introducing any color, so I designed four motifs representing the four seasons which were laser cut into the cover of the invitation.

I'm busy working on one of my favorite projects to date! An entire ART DECO themed stationery set to include an engagement invitation, vintage save the date postcards, letterpressed wedding invitation, laser cutting and day-of stationery. The 1920's were such an inspiring era for art, lifestyle, architecture and music, so I thought I'd show you the mood board I put together to help me bring the 1920's back to life in my designs for the couple. And while you're at it, take sneak peak at one of the vintage save-the-date postcards I put together for the couple.

Tiffany blue is always a color favorite of mine so when Hassan and Fatima told me they wanted to do a tiffany blue wedding at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi I jumped on board to design their invitations! However, they did not want to event to turn into a "Tiffany" themed wedding, so we had to stear clear of the anything that resembled the famous jeweler's aqua boxes with white ribbon! Instead I designed this aqua colored dupioni silk pouch adorned with a crystal button to hold a laser engraved Lucite glass wedding invitation. Clean, modern, simple, yet still incredibly luxurious! I'm just in love with it.
